Russell Lee Miesner, 35 of Shawnee, Kansas passed away August 27, 2014. Russell was born January 22, 1979 in Merriam, Kansas to Dennis Lee Miesner and Terri Lynn Atkinson. Russell loved sports but most of all he loved his Grandma Pauline. He spent his adult life caring for her when she became ill. They were best friends who spent a lot of time watching the Jayhawks, Chiefs and Royals games. He was a kind hearted loving man to his family and friends and even strangers. He touched so many lives with his kindness. He will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his father, Dennis Miesner of Parkville, mother Terri L. Atkinson of Shawnee, brother, Ryan Shannon and wife Kara Shannon of Lenexa, sisters, Amanda Miesner of Independence and Tori Jo Poling of Highlandville, Missouri, paternal grandmother, Ruth Kerr of Sedalia and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. We must not forget "Callie" his beloved cat. Russell was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Willis "Dale" Field and Pauline V. Field and his paternal grandfather Stan Kerr.

A Visitation has been scheduled for 5:00 - 6:00 PM, Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at The Amos Family Funeral Home with a Memorial Service immediately following at 6:00 PM.
