Ruth Curran Bell

March 25, 1920 — January 1, 2012

Ruth (Curran) Bell, 91, of Kansas City, Kansas, went to the loving arms of Jesus on January 1st, 2012.

Born on March 25th 1920, she had ninety-one wonderful, eventful years on earth. Ruth was the first drum major at Shawnee Mission High School. In the fifties, she read water meters in Mission, Kansas. She had three children by her first husband, Merle Curran, but Michael Curran preceded her in death. Her two daughters, Sharon (Curran) Harrison and Cassandra (Curran) Harrison survive her.

Preceding her in death are two grandsons, Cary Dean Curran and Shane Harrison. There are five remaining grandchildren: Michelle Reisen, Stefani Mustain, Shawn Curran, Vince Harrison and Tabitha Torgrude, twelve great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. She leaves three sisters: Helen Davis, Vivian Brownell and Elva June Wager-Smith. She will be missed by all!

A visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 5, 2012, at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee with the funeral service following at 11:00 a.m. and burial in Pleasant View Cemetery, Shawnee, Kansas.
