Ruth Aline Figgins

Ruth Aline Figgins, 93, Kansas City, Kansas, died June 10, 2009 at the Delmar Gardens of O'Fallon, Missouri.

Mrs. Figgins was born in Cedar Point, Kansas, moved to Quenemo, Kansas in 1932 and graduated from Pomona High School in 1934. She taught school in Franklin County, Kansas for 6 years. In 1941, she married Rankin Figgins, who preceded her in death in 1984. Ruth was a librarian for the Kansas City, Kansas School District, retiring in 1980. She was a member of the Merriam Christian Church and had lived in the Kansas City area since 1946.

Survivors include a son, Ronald Eugene Figgins, Spring Hill, Kansas; daughter, Bonnie Faye Taylor and her husband, Richard, St. Charles, Missouri; four grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.

The family suggests contributions to the Merriam Christian Church, 9401 Johnson Dr., Merriam, Kansas 66203.

Visitation and Funeral Services

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 13 at the Pomona United Methodist Church, 336 E. A Street, Pomona, Kansas. Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Friday at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee and 10-11 a.m. Saturday at the church. Burial in the Woodlawn Cemetery, Pomona, Kansas.
