Ruth Evelyn Raspotnik, 100 of Overland Park, Kansas passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 31, 2022. She was born in Des Moines, Iowa on July 26, 1921, to Charles and Clara Leopold. Ruth was feisty, willful, an excellent cook and creative. Her creativity was inspiring, and she blessed her family with beautiful ceramics, custom sewing, knitting and delicious meals. Ruth loved card games and playing slots at the casinos. She appreciated a good scotch highball and had an energy we wish we all had. The photograph is of her at Easter this year. Our family is lucky to have had so much time with her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Raspotnik. Survivors include her children; Mark Raspotnik, Deborah Schmidt, Christine North; five grandchildren, Mark Raspotnik Jr., Kristopher Schmidt, Collin Schmidt, Evelyn Raspotnik, Michael Raspotnik, and two great grandchildren, Hudson and Paislee Schmidt.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, June 11th, 2022, at the Amos Family Funeral Home at 9:30 a.m. followed by a service at 10:30 a.m. She will be laid to rest next to her husband at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery in Lenexa, Kansas following the service.
