Ruth Marion Ridgway

Ruth Marion Ridgway, 93, of Ottawa, IL, passed away on Tuesday, February 13, 2018. Born December 11, 1924, in Aurora, IL, she was the daughter of Charles and Florence Galor.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard B. Ridgway, parents, and sister, Arlene Vermeland. She is survived by son Galor Ridgway and his wife, Connie, of Mission, KS, daughter, Patti Besse, of Kansas City, KS, niece Bonnie Vermeland Anderson and her husband, Dan, of Seneca, IL, six grandchildren, and several great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.

Ruth loved to spend time with family. Her kids, her grandchildren and great grandchildren were her everything. She will be forever remembered as a gentle and creative lady. Over the years she was a seamstress, homemaker, daycare provider and taught painting classes to the elderly. In her spare time she enjoyed playing the piano, arts and crafts and gardening.

A memorial service will be held at 2pm Saturday, February 24, 2018, at Amos Family Funeral Home in Shawnee, KS. A graveside committal will take place in Illinois at a later date.
