RUTH MARIE ROEDERER
Born in Linn, MO in 1930 to Huebert and Mary Otto-Maasen. After raising 8 children, Ruth went to work in Mission, KS at an accounting firm working 35 years retiring at the age of 79. Ruth was the 1st woman in KC KS Diocesan Curcillo movement in 1974 and served as the 1st female lay director from 1983-1985. As a member of the Regional Service Group she traveled the Midwest promoting the movement and speaking at conferences.
She was known for her countless hours of charitable giving for the Catholic Church and community. She is survived by her beloved husband of 66 years Lawrence (Don) Roederer and children; Karen Albert, Larry (Donna), Cynthia, Steve (Sheryl), Joe (Nancy), Christopher (Erika) and Susan Gosch: 16 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandson; and a large extended family. She was preceded in death by her son, Denis (1958-2017), her parents and 10 siblings.
A Wake will be from 6:30-8:00p.m. Wednesday, May 17th at St. Pius X Catholic Church with a Rosary at 7:00p.m. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00a.m. on Thursday, May 18th at St. Pius Catholic Church; burial in the St. Johns Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to St. Pius X Parish Mission, KS or Sanctuary of Hope or Catholic Hospice.
