Ruth E. Shockey, 82, of Lenexa, KS passed away Thursday, September 20, 2018 at Azria Health in Olathe.

Ruth was born March 28, 1936 to the late Milford and Ellen Marsh in Council Bluffs, IA.  Ruth married Donald Shockey on September 29, 1956.  While she worked as an Order Interpreter for B. Blumenthal, she was a union steward for UAW District 65.  She enjoyed gardening and crocheting afghans and blankets for family and friends.  Ruth was a doting grandmother and great grandmother, and looked forward to spending as much time as possible with family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her daughter, Patricia Michaels; son, Thomas Shockey; a granddaughter, Melanie Chaney; and two brothers, Donald and Ronald Marsh.  Ruth is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Donald; a daughter, Cheryl Chaney; a sister, Suzanne Hall; 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Visitation and Services

Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, September 28, 2018 at Amos Family Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Saturday, September 29, 2018,  at the funeral home.  Ruth will be laid to rest in Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens.
