Ruth (Berger) Wenner, 97, of Overland Park, Kansas, formerly of Merriam, Kansas, died on July 6, 2015. She was the wife of Dr. Herbert A. Wenner, who pre-deceased her.
Born on September 10, 1917 in Bridgeport Connecticut, she studied science at Arnold College in New Haven Connecticut. She met Dr. Wenner while working in the bacteriological lab at Yale University. They were married for 56 years before his death.
She is survived by her four children, Peter Wenner, James Wenner, Susan (Wenner) Lanyon, and Thomas Wenner, as well as by 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
She was active in scouting and school organizations with her children, in volunteer and auxiliary groups at KU Medical Center and Children's Mercy Hospital and on the Altar Guild at St. Luke's Episcopal Church.
There will be a private family service at her gravesite in Pennsylvania.
