Samuel A. Danso

December 11, 1967 — November 19, 2015

Samuel A. Danso, age 47 of Shawnee, passed away on Thursday, November 19, 2015. He was born to Timothy Addo Danso and Kate Asiedua on December 11, 1967 in Ghana.

Sam as he was affectionately called, attended the Presbyterian Boys Secondary School (Ghana) before attending the MidAmerica Nazarene University where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. He also obtained a Master of Science in Business administration from DeVry University. Sam was a veteran on the US Army Reserves and received an honorable discharge for his service.

Family and friends were Sam's delight and he was always seen with his trademark smile. He was positive, funny, playful and full of life. Sam had a big heart and was known for his selfless support of others, no matter the circumstance. Whether struggling with personal hardships, illness, or simply in need of help, family and friends were always welcomed by Sam. He consistently encouraged everyone and made sure to make everyone smile.

Sam was a man of dreams, goals and aspirations and wasn't afraid to follow them. Sam worked as a nurse at Menorah Medical Center in Overland Park. He also owned his own business, Victory Healthcare Agency. Sam also wanted to obtain his doctorate in nursing and was enrolled in a PhD program at the University of Iowa at the time of his passing.

Sam is survived by his wife, Rose Coleman; his mother, Kate Asiedua; his daughter, Animwaa A. Danso; his siblings, Rosina Frimpomaa, Nicholson Nyarko; his cousins Dickson Boadi, Victoria Gyasiwaa, Kwabena Ansah, Martha Gyemfua, Vida Owusu Boahen; his nephews and nieces Thomas Ofosu, Fredrick Ofosu, Priscilla Ofosu, Opoku Osei; as well as a number of family in the U.S. and Ghana.

A visitation will be held Saturday, December 5, 2015 at the Amos Family Funeral Home 10901 Johnson Drive, Shawnee, Kansas from 9-11 am with services at 11 am. Burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery. A traditional service will be held at 6pm at 6521 Neiman, Shawnee, KS.
