Sandra “Sande” Sue Burnworth of Shawnee, Kansas, age 61, passed away on October 1, 2016 in her home.
Born on November 4, 1954, Sande grew up in Emporia, Kansas. She was born to Ruth N. and Eugene C. Barrett. She graduated Emporia High School and Emporia State University. She married Greg Burnworth on February 10, 1990.
Sande worked at Hallmark Cards for 25 years until she retired and went on to work at Lansing School district where she derived great satisfaction working with children as a paraprofessional.
Sande enjoyed spending time traveling with her husband, beaches being their number one destination. She also took great pride watching her son perform in plays and musicals.
Sande was always a kind, happy and caring person. She will be deeply missed by family and many, many others.
Survivors include her husband, Greg Burnworth of the home; son, Brandon of Shawnee, KS; brother, Terry (Teresa) Barrett of Emporia, KS; sister, Lorrie (Joe) Reichmuth of Overland Park, KS, Father-in-Law, Frank Burnworth of Lenexa, KS; Mother-in-Law, Pam Tolbert of Independence, MO.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, October 7th at the Amos Family Funeral Home in Shawnee.
