Sandy Shortley, 69, of Shawnee formerly of State Center, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, October 29, 2014, at Shawnee Mission Medical Center.

Sandy was born September 28, 1945, in Marshalltown, Iowa, to the late Daniel and Lucile Shortley. Sandy was a longtime resident of State Center, Iowa, where she owned and operated Sandy's Beauty Salon.

She also preceded in death by her niece, Theresa Fuller, nephew, Kevin Fuller and brother in law, Francis "Fritz" Fuller. Sandy is survived by her sisters, Marilyn Fuller, Dorothy Torres and husband Raymond, Jr.; two nieces, Debbie Knudsen and husband Larry, Jr.; Diane Duncan and husband Wayne; nephew Scott Fuller and wife Lauren; and her faithful com-panion Toby.

Celebration of Life Service

A Celebration of Sandy's life will be 11 a.m,. Saturday, November 1, 2014, at the Amos Family Funeral Home. Sandy will be laid to rest in St. Joseph Cemetery in State Center, Iowa.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
