Scott Daniel Carpenter, 49, of Shawnee, Kansas, died on July 18, 2011, at his home.
Scott was employed by Landrum & Brown as a Senior Project Manager at the time of his passing. Scott is a graduate of DeVry Institute of Technology. He was a member of the Institute of Noise Control Engineering, Air Traffic Control Association, Mid-America MENSA, FAA's Aviation Environment Design Tool and a past member of FAA's INM and NIRS Design Review Groups. Along with Scott's memberships he was also a speaker for UC Davis Noise & Air Quality Symposium in 2007 and 2010; he was an instructor for ACC NEPA Short Course 2003, Airspace Redesign Noise Assessment Models and for FAA Air Traffic Environmental Symposium 2003 and 2008.
Scott enjoyed exercising, riding bikes and following sports. He was an avid reader, enjoyed working on his 1973 Jaguar XJ V12, and spending time with his nieces. A loving brother, uncle and friend whose generosity is hard to measure.
Scott was preceded in death by his parents Audrey and Elmer Carpenter. Survivors include a sister Amy (George) Bowers, Shawnee, Kansas; two nieces Caroline Rose and Lilly Jane Bowers; as well as other extended family and friends.

Visitation and Funeral Service
Visitation will be 1:00-2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 23, 2011, at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee. Funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. Entombment in Resurrection Cemetery Mausoleum, Lenexa, Kansas.
