Scott W. Matteson, Sr.

d. November 5, 2018

Scott William Matteson, Sr. passed away in his home on Monday, November 5th, 2018. He was surrounded by his loving family and will always be remembered for being the great son, brother, father, uncle, grandfather, husband, and friend that he was. He now gets to rest with his father, mother, aunt and uncle.

He is best remembered for his time spent in the men's senior baseball league; he played for over 20 years across multiple teams and made countless lifelong friends along the way. He was a member of the Rotary Club of Western Shawnee and loved being able to contribute back to his community in any capacity he was able to. If he wasn't on the baseball field, tending to his property, or smoking some of the most delicious meat around then he could be found at one of his grandchildren's events cheering them on and supporting them in the very special way only he could.

He is survived by his wife, Terrie Johnson; his daughter Jennifer Schmidt and her husband Stephen and their son Wyatt; his son Scott Matteson and his wife Megan and their twin son and daughter; his son Brandon Johnson and his fiancé Carey and their children Aubrey, Evan, Allen, and Alexander; his son Alan Johnson and his wife Sarah and their children Gavin and Lyla; his brother Brian Matteson and his children Mark and Maggie; his stepmother Margot Matteson; his 4 dogs, 3 cats, 2 bunnies and numerous chickens.

Visitation will be held from 1:00-2:30 p.m. on Friday at Amos Family Funeral Home with a funeral service to immediately follow.
