Seth Hunter Straley

Seth Straley, 27, of Shawnee, KS, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on November 5, 2022 at his home.  He was born on May 1st, 1995 in Kettering, Ohio, to Doug and Kathy Straley.  A visitation will be held on Sunday, November 13th from 3:00-4:00 pm at First Baptist Church of Shawnee, 11400 Johnson Drive, Shawnee, KS.  The funeral service will start at 4:00 pm with a meal to follow in the Fellowship Hall.

Seth graduated from Shawnee Mission North High School in 2013 and later attended Johnson County Community College to study auto-mechanics.  He was very involved at First Baptist Church serving the children, youth and men.  Seth loved to fish and smoke meats; he was also a certified judge with the Kansas City Barbecue Society.  The love of his life and best friend was his son, Hunter.  His contagious smile and encouraging spirit will be greatly missed.

Seth was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Varil Straley & Audrey Fugate; and cousin, Robert Thomas Leonard, Jr.  He is survived by his son, Hunter Alexander Straley; parents, Doug & Kathy Straley; sister, Hannah (Tyler) Withrow; maternal grandparents, Larry & June Fry; uncle, Michael Fry; paternal aunts, Cheryl Coughlin, Sheila Lay, and Rebecca Thomas.  He was also loved dearly by his many cousins.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Seth’s name may be made to his son, Hunter Straley, to be placed in a minor savings account in his name.  You may donate in one of two ways:
