What can one say about a young woman who was taken much too soon and too tragically? She was born in Kansas City, Kansas, and died there. She spent a great deal of time in the St. Louis area where she went to school and gained many friends. She was a brilliant artisan in her repair work of stringed instruments and loved her craft. She also loved music deeply and attended live concerts and other venues whenever she could. There is so much more to her that should be said. Most people's lives cannot be summed up in a few brief words, and hers was no exception.

She leaves behind family and friends who will miss her very deeply. Her constant companion was her beloved cat, Mister Fuzziface, now in the care of the sister who was perhaps the closest person in the world to her, Heather Isbell, and her husband, Brian Isbell. Her grandmother, Sally Keithley-McCulley, survives her. Besides her sister, she leaves three step-sisters, Erica, Angela and Christine, and a step-brother, Ryan, as well as her nieces and nephews, Cory, Amber, Cassie and Jagger. She leaves her Aunt Janet and cousins Eric, Kathy, Lara, Andrew and Jennie. She leaves friends too numerous to mention, but in particular, Gail Henry of St. Louis, who was a mother figure to her, and her family. Finally, she leaves her father, Richard Keithley, to write her remembrance.  She has now joined her grandfather, Marion Keithley, whom she loved so dearly. Rest in Peace, Shannon. You will be sorely missed.

Celebration of Life Services

A celebration of Shannon's life will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, August 26, 2017, St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 5325 Nieman Road, Shawnee, KS 66203.

Memorial Contributions

The family suggests memorial contributions in Shannon’s memory be made in lieu of flowers to a local animal shelter.
