Sheila Diane Demars

Sheila DeMars, 56, of Shawnee, KS, passed away, Thursday, January 18, 2018 at St. Luke's South Hospital.

Sheila was born in Salina, KS. She was a proud alumni of K-State, graduating in 1983 with a Bachelors in Elementary Education. She later earned her Master's Degree from Webster University. She taught at Noble Prentis Elementary in Kansas City, KS for 33 years. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Sheila is survived by her husband of 34 years, Tom DeMars; a son, Brandon DeMars, of Shawnee, KS; a daughter, Beth DeMars, of Manhattan, KS; her mother, Kay Peters, of Concordia, KS; her father, J. B. Peters, of Arizona; a sister, Shari (Dorran) Mullins, of Wamego, KS; four nephews and one niece.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Shawnee (temporarily located at 11525 Johnson Dr.) with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 - 8 p.m., Tuesday at the Amos Family Funeral Home where the Rosary will be prayed at 6 p.m.

The family suggests contributions to the Kansas State University School of Education or St. Joseph Catholic Church.
