Shirley Joos-Jones, 66, of Zephyr Hills, Florida, formerly of Shawnee, went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, December 17, 2009, after an automobile accident near St. Louis.
Shirley graduated from Shawnee Mission North in 1960. After high school, Shirley completed a degree in nursing and work for several years at Shawnee Mission Hospital. Shirley loved the Lord her Savior Jesus Christ. She enjoyed having her family all together. Shirley always put the wants and needs of others before hers.
She is survived by her husband of 24 years, Marvin; four daughters, Arlene Ogden, Tracey Sciara, Karen Brown, and Jeanine Ellett; one son, Tom Atwell; two brothers, Don and Denny Leonard; two sisters, Pat McDonald, and Betty Baker; 12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Missouri Baptist Children Home, 11300 St. Charles Rock Road, Bridgeton, Missouri 63044.
Visitaton and Memorial Services
A visitation will be 10-11 a.m., Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee. A memorial service will follow at the Chapel.
