Shirley N. Perdaris

December 5, 1929 — February 14, 2019

Shirley N. Perdaris, 89, of Overland Park, KS passed away on February 14th, 2019.  She was born on December 5th, 1929 in Moberly, MO to Ralph and Bertha Stacy.

Shirley was interested in music and an avid reader, and loved to travel.  She was often teased for reading the KC Star from cover to cover, and being one of the last people to read the KC Star. She continued to take the star (out of orneriness) even though she couldn't see to read. Shirley loved to "cut a rug" on the dance floor and often made people stop to watch. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and friend. She had two lifelong friends in Betsy and Jean. Shirley attended church when able and instilled Christian values in her children.

She was employed by the Jones store at Metcalf South for over 40 years and had earlier careers as a switch board operator for southwestern bell, and as a floral arranger for Emporia floral.  Shirley attended Emporia State University for 2 years and left to devote herself to her new job of wife and mother.

She is survived by her two daughters Chris Hackney and Patricia Onion and respective families. Shirley is preceded in death by her son Peter Michael Perdaris and her brother Ardel, and sister Thelma.

A visitation will be held at Amos Family Funeral Home, 10901 Johnson Dr, Shawnee, KS 66203 from 9-10 AM on Monday, February 18th.  A funeral service will immediately follow at 10:00 AM.  Burial at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens.
