Stanley Dale Perry

January 14, 1937 — September 4, 2021

Stanley ‘Stan’ Dale Perry passed away at his Lenexa, Kansas residence at the age of 84 on September 4, 2021. He was born in the township of Clemons Grove (now Clemons), Iowa on January 14, 1937, to Lyle Avery Perry, a shipping clerk at Lennox, and Erma Bernice Perry (nee Christensen), a salesperson at Woolworth department store.
Stan served in the United States Marine Corps from 1959 to 1963 and was very proud to be an American soldier – especially a Marine. Prior to his enlistment in the military, he married Betty Johnson (spouse: 1958-1974) and had 3 children while living in Iowa. The family moved from Iowa to Downey, California where Stan worked for Ford Motor Company for 6 years. Then the family relocated to Kansas City, Missouri; and Stan held various jobs there before settling into employment with United Parcel Service in Lenexa, Kansas, where he stayed until retirement.
Stan liked to travel domestically to locations including Yellowstone National Park and the Smithsonian museums. His hobbies included landscaping the yard at his home, league bowling, watching University of Kansas Basketball games, Royals and Chiefs games, and spending time with his family. He is survived by his son Rod Perry of Overland Park, Kansas; daughter Cheryl Hawkins of Kansas City, Missouri; grandson Jeremy Hawkins of Kansas City, Missouri; his brother Richard Perry of Marshalltown, Iowa and 4 nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Avery Perry, his sister Geneva Ricci, and his son Lyle Perry.
