Stephen Richard Clancy, 55, passed away on Friday March 5, 2021 at Advent Health Hospital in Overland Park KS.
He was born in Montgomery, Maryland on September 1, 1965. Stephen moved to Overland Park, Kansas when he was 4 years old and went to grade school, junior high and high school in Overland Park. He lived most of his life in the Kansas City area, with a few years in South Africa.
He was a graduate of Shawnee Mission West High School, and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Kansas State University, and his MBA from the University of Kansas.
He was also an Eagle Scout. He played the drums and piano. Stephen had an intense curiosity for many things, loved the outdoors, and adventure.
Stephen loved the Lord with all his heart and soul. He was a close follower of Jesus, and loved being a part of Nall Avenue Baptist Church. He could often be found enjoying God’s creation on land, or when the opportunity presented itself, under water as a Scuba Diver.
While at KSU, he played in the marching band and was a member of Lambda Chi fraternity.
Stephen met his first wife, Elaine at KSU. They married and had three children: Rick (27), Logan (25) and Becca (21).
Stephen’s work took him to South Africa in 2010 to build Power Plants and that's where he met his current wife, Anelda (Nelda) in 2011. They met, fell deeply in love, and married in December of 2012. They had two sons: Johann (5) and Micah (4).
Stephen loved the people in his life, especially his family in South Africa who embrace him with so much love and compassion. He was most proud of his new family, specifically, Anelda and his five children.
Stephan was proceeded in death by his mother,
Barbara Jane Young Clancy.
