Stephen E. Vilmer M.D., 73, of Merriam, Ks passed away on November 12, 2016. Stephen was born August 11, 1943 in Brownwood, Texas to Charles and V. Patricia Vilmer. Steve is survived by his wife of 42 years, Gayle, sister Ann (Larry) Graham, son David E. Clark, niece Laura Graham Isaac and grand-nephews Wes and Max. He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Suzanne Allen. Steve graduated from Shawnee Mission East High School. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Kansas and proudly served as President of his college fraternity, Alpha Kappa Lambda. He received his doctorate of medicine from the University of Kansas Medical School. After serving in the US Navy in Key West Florida, he and his family returned to the Kansas City area where Steve began his practice in orthopedic medicine. During the years, he served as President of the Clay/Platte County Medical Society, President of the Missouri State Medical Association, and Chief of Surgery at North Kansas City Hospital. Stephen retired in April 2016 after 40 years of medical service at the hospital.

Services

Visitation is 6:00-8:00 PM Monday November 21, 2016 and Funeral Service is 2:00 PM Tuesday November 22, 2016. Both at Amos Family Funeral Home 10901 Johnson Drive Shawnee, Ks. Private Burial.
