Steve Buscher

June 16, 1957 — April 11, 2021

Steven J Buscher of Shawnee, Kansas passed away on Sunday, April 11, 2021 surrounded by friends and family. Steve was born on Fathers’ Day 1957 in Algona, IA, the 5th son of John and Clarice Buscher. At the age of 5 the family moved to Montana where Steve spent his formative years and graduated from Billings West High School.

He began his lifelong sales career at Thom McCann Shoe Store in Billings, but soon moved into traveling sales. His travels started by driving a Makita van around the country providing demos and attending trade shows. His career led him to move to Kansas City in 1990 where he worked for various companies including Ramset Redhead, Bosch and White Cap.

At one of his Makita demos in Grand Island, Nebraska he met the lovely Nina Eberline who he would marry in 1985. He and Nina enjoyed their more than 35 years of marriage by traveling and spending good times with friends and family. Steve loved to plan events at work, parties for friends, and trips for his friends and family. His objective was always to be sure everyone had a great time.

In 2002 he found a new passion when he purchased his first motorcycle. He and his friends would do Saturday morning rides often to find unique breakfast places. Steve would plan an annual trip for the Mild Hogs to new and interesting places around the country. But his favorite rides were always the “bourbon rides”. Often these rides were to Tennessee, but they were always open to finding new distilleries.

Steve was also very devoted to Folds of Honor, a charity that provides scholarships to family members of our fallen military. Steve was preceded in death by his parents John and Clarice Buscher and his brother Leslie. He is survived by his wife Nina; his brothers Dennis and wife Linda of Montana, Dean and wife Sharon of Arizona, Rodney and wife Melanie of Colorado; and his sister Brenda and husband Sean of Arizona.
