Steve Hersh

A memorial service will be 2:30 pm, Saturday, October 29, 2022 at Amos Family Funeral Home, 10901 Johnson Drive, Shawnee, Kansas 66203. There will be a Reception immediately following the service at 11757 S Roundtree St. Olathe KS 66061.

Steve was born on August 14th, 1955 in Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland to Donald and Virginia (Wyland) Hersh.

Steve spent most of his childhood and teenage years in Overland Park, Kansas where he graduated from Shawnee Mission South in 1973. He went on to receive a bachelor’s in Business and a bachelor’s in Automotive Technology from Pittsburg State University.

After graduation he joined the Shawnee Police Department. He spent most of his career working in the Automotive Industry in Management. Most recently, he was a Security Officer.

Steve married Ja on September 21st, 1985. They welcomed twin Daughters Jennifer and Katherine in 1987 and a Son, Kenny, in 1999.

Steve had many lifelong hobbies and interests. He enjoyed working on cars, following the news and spending time with his cats. He was a devoted Husband, Father and Grandfather.

He is preceded in death by his Parents.

Survivors include his Wife, Ja (Scurlock); Children, Jennifer, Katherine and Kenny; Son-In-Laws Mike and Jorge and Grandchildren Duvier and Kareli.
