Steven Joseph Hartegan

Steven "Steve" Joseph Hartegan, a beloved father, son, brother, and friend, passed away on December 2, 2024, in Kansas City, Kansas, at the age of 61. 

A visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 pm, Saturday, December 7, 2024 at the Amos Family Funeral Home. 

Born on September 17, 1963, in Kansas City, Kansas. Steve was a dedicated employee of the Board of Public Utilities. Known for his warm personality and quick wit, Steve brought joy to those around him both at work and in his personal life.Steve found great pleasure in fishing, watching "Star Trek" and the "Alien" movies with family. He was also a Chiefs fan.

Steve was preceded in death by his grandparents, an uncle, his step-father, and his father, Edward L. Hartegan. He is survived by his loving children, Elizabeth and Edward G. Hartegan, who were his pride and joy. He also leaves behind his dear mother Judith McDonald and step-mother Judith Hartegan. Also his siblings, Debbie Newton and Brian Hartegan. Many aunts, uncles, and cousins also mourn his passing, cherishing the memories they shared with him.Steve's presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his legacy of kindness, humor, and passion for life will continue to inspire those he leaves behind.
