Sunny Darlene Yenser, 78, of Overland Park, KS, passed away on Sunday February 2, 2025.
Sunny was born August 1, 1946, in Regina, Sasketchewan Canada, the youngest daughter of John “Jack” and Violet “Jackie” Hoag. She graduated from Brigham Young University with a Masters in School Psychology, and spent her career working in various school districts in Junction City, Fort Riley and Manhattan, KS.
Sunny was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was always told by others that her name perfectly fit her personality. She was always smiling, and finding ways to share her positivity and faith with others. She loved serving members of her church, and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her daughter Jenny Yenser (Lamar) of Overland Park, KS, her son Jeremy Yenser (Meg) of Derby, KS, her son Brice Yenser of Carrollton, TX, and her daughter Amy Hopewell (Steven) of Columbus, OH; and 6 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and two sisters, Marilyn Good and Patricia Phelps both of Canada.
A gathering will take place from 11:00am to 1:00pm Saturday, April 26, 2025 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 7100 Hadley St., Overland Park, KS 66204. In lieu of flowers, the family would like for you to post your favorite memory of Sunny.
