In the early morning hours of September 4, 1927, in Erwin,Tennessee, God decided it was time to send another one of his Angels to earth, thus Sylvia Colleen Hunter was born to Paul and Fannie (Walker) Harvey. Sylvia departed on November 19, 2012, and was surely greeted by her parents, her son Ernest "Kent", her granddaughter, Lucretia S. Johnson, and her sister, Shirley Darnell.
In 1955, Sylvia married George T. Hunter, her beloved husband of 57 years, said her goodbyes to her family and friends in Erwin and moved her two boys Mike and Kent, to Kansas City.

Sylvia was a beautiful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother and friend who had a gentle, caring, loving spirit, with a special twinkle in her eyes and an irrestable smile. God used Sylvia in many ways from helping relocateVietnam and Cambodian refugees as they came to the US, Chairman of the Missions Committee, and Deaconess at the First Baptist Church of Shawnee where she was a member for 40 years.
Sylvia will be missed by her husband, George T. Hunter, son, Michael J. Hunter (Sherry Love), daughter-in-law, Susan J. Hunter, sister, Jewel Harvey, 6 grandchildren, 10 great grand children and 4 great great grand children, nieces, nephews and friends.
