Taylor Karl Whitman-Humphrey, age 28, of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away at home on Thursday, March 8, 2012.
He was born on October 14, 1983, in Des Moines, Iowa, moving to Ocean Side, California, at age 8, and to Overland Park, Kansas, at age 12. Taylor graduated from Horizon's High School, class of 2002 then attended Johnson County Community College. Taylor was a computer programmer and IT specialist. Taylor loved being a father, playing the guitar, and spending time with family and friends, especially outdoors.
Taylor is survived by his three children, Gabriella Whitman, age 9, Holden Whitman, age 6, and Leah Whitman, age 3, all of Overland Park, Kansas; brothers, Blake Humphrey, Tre Humphrey, Reis Humphrey, Kye Hinson, Kadyn Hinson, Octavius Hinson, all of Overland Park, Dean Johnson of St. Louis, Missouri, Christian Whitman of Scranton, Pennsylvania; sisters, Sydney Humphrey of Overland Park, Arlaina Whitman, of Scranton, Pennsylvania; step-brother, Edward Raymer; step-sisters, Babaette Raymer, Richardalyn Raymer, all of Scranton, Pennsylvania; mother, Beckie Humphrey, of Overland Park, Kansas; father, Bill Whitman and his wife Barbara of Scranton, Pennsylvania; and grandmother, Margaret Pope of Des Moines, Iowa.
Taylor was preceded in death by Papa Jim Greer of Des Moines, Iowa, Grandpa Roger of Euraka Springs, Arkansas, and Grandpa Kenneth Whitman of Scranton, Pennsylvania.
A visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 14, 2012, at Amos Family Funeral Home and Crematory. Funeral service will be 4:00 p.m., Thursday, March 15, 2012, also at the funeral home, with Minister Tony Ways of Mission Bible Church officiating. Pallbearers will be Blake Humphrey, Tre Humphrey, Reis Humphrey, Edward Raymer, Zy Aire Arzu, and Walt Humphrey.
