Terri Mika

Terri Mika, 45, of Shawnee, Kansas, lost her battle with cancer on May 9, 2011.

Terri was born May 9, 1966, in Pomona, California, to Thomas and Linda Smith. She spent the majority of her life in Kansas. She graduated from Shawnee Mission East High School in 1984 where she was a varsity cheerleader. She went on to receive a degree in Hospitality Management. Terri managed the Radisson Historic Suites Hotel prior to being married in 1990 to Robert W. Mika.

Terri was an active member of St. Joseph parish for 20 years, supporting church functions, school functions, and a variety of charities.

Terri was preceded in death by her brother Bret T. Smith. She is survived by her husband; children, Christine M. Mika, Emily N. Mika, Robert W. Mika II, and Michael C. Mika; sister Kristina L. Reinhart (Craig) of Houston, Texas; and her parents Tom and Linda Smith of Prairie Village, Kansas.

In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made to the Mika Children Foundation, c/o Bank of the West.

Visitation and Funeral Service

Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Monday, May 16, 2011, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 11311 Johnson Drive, Shawnee, Kansas, where a Rosary will be recited at 5:30 p.m. Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 17, 2011, at the church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
