Terry Glenn Abramovitz

Terry Abramovitz, 57, of Shawnee, Kansas passed away in his home on Wednesday, June 26th 2019.

Terry was born July 16th 1961 in Kansas City, Kansas to Thelman and Peggy. Terry grew up in Leavenworth and graduated from Lansing high school in 1980 where he played football and basketball. At the age of 18 Terry was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma and is a 40 year cancer survivor.

Terry loved his profession, working for 21 years at McPike/ Foxmeyer/McKesson pharmaceutical company, starting on the dock and working his way up to the corporate office as a Six Sigma Black Belt business process analyst. He was at Quintiles/Aptuit pharmaceutical company for 9 years as an operations manager.

Terry met Jan, the love of his life, in 1981 and they were married January 28th 1984. In November 1988 they were blessed with their only son, Alex.

He loved his 1970 Stingray, Mr. Breeze and treasured his car group family with all his heart. He loved his cats and swimming pool. He had an unmatched sense of humor and a smile that could light up a room.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Thelman and Peggy and brother Brian. He is survived by his wife Jan of 35 years, son Alex, and daughter in law Sarah.

A visitation will be held Tuesday, July 2nd from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Amos Family Funeral Home. A funeral service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 3rd at the funeral home.
