Terry Eldon Morgan

October 16, 1944 — May 25, 2014

Terry E. Morgan passed away on May 25th 2014. Born on October 16th 1944 to Eldon and Gladys Morgan. A Rockhurst high school graduate, Terry joined the U.S. Army as a Medic serving in Vietnam with the 101st Airborne, where he was awarded a bronze star for valor, obtaining the rank of SSG before his discharge in 1968. That same year he joined the Overland Park Police department, where he obtained the rank of detective. In the course of his 29 year career, Terry attended the FBI academy in Quantico, Virginia, served as lead detective on numerous metro squad cases, and become one of the original members of the department's Bomb Disposal Unit, maintaining a membership with the International Association of Bomb Technicians & Investigators. But most importantly he would marry his loving wife Linda in 1970. They went on to raise two children, a daughter Karen and a son Scott. After retirement in 1997, he graduated from UMKC School of Law with his J.D in 2001. Terry is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Michael and Malachy, nephews Jess and Sebastian. He leaves behind his wife of 44 years, his two children, aunt Frances, brothers Kim, John, and Peter, sisters Mimi and Toni, and numerous nieces and nephews. His unwavering sense of fairness and devotion to dignity of all people are just a few of the things that will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Services will be held on May 31st at 11 am at the Amos Family Funeral Home 10901 Johnson Drive, Shawnee K.S. with a reception to follow at the F.O.P hall in Overland Park, K.S.
