Thelma Lorraine Durr

Thelma Lorraine Durr, 96, of Shawnee, KS formerly of Dodge City and Pratt, Kansas passed away Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at the Kansas City Hospice House. Graveside service will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 29, 2021 at Maple Grove Cemetery, 2350 Matt Down Ln, Dodge City, KS 67801. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Great Plains SPCA, 5428 Antioch Dr., Merriam, KS, 66202. Thelma was born June 8, 1925 to the late Utah and Lena Richardson in Buffalo, Oklahoma. She graduated from Buffalo High School where she was one of six female players on the basketball team. Thelma loved sports especially watching basketball all of her life, and enjoyed following KU players through their NBA careers. Thelma left home and went to work at the local restaurant at age 16. She worked for over twenty years as a Medicare Specialist for Humana. Thelma is preceded in death by her three husbands, Oris M. Hamm; Victor L. Durr; Warren D. Clark; four sisters and a brother. She is survived by her children, Walinda Hamm; Bill Hamm and wife Debra; a grandson, Todd McRae; two sisters, Dorothy Cotter; Delores Black; her brother, James Richardson and his wife Berdina; four step children and five step grandchildren.
