Thelma Mayme Bunn Woodward

January 3, 1928 — June 16, 2020

Thelma M. Woodward, 92, of Olathe, KS passed away on June 16th, 2020.  She was born on January 3rd, 1928 in Sedalia, MO to Thomas and Fannie Bunn.

Thelma was an avid book reader and enjoyed birds and bird watching with many bird feeders always surrounding any windows that were available.  She had a green thumb enjoying all flowers and plants and could bring any plant back to life.  She was a self-taught painter by watching the skills of Bob Ross and other painters.  She enjoyed scouting and photographing different sites and sceneries for ideas that she would later paint.  Thelma shared her paintings with family and friends and won multiple ribbons at the county fair. She was the ultimate baker and candy maker.  During the holidays, she would present everyone with wonderful delicious treats.  Her angel food cake won multiple ribbons at the fair as well.  While considered a homebody, she was the happiest when family and friends would come to visit her.

Thelma was preceded in death by her husband, J.B. Woodward Jr. as well as her parents, siblings and oldest son, "Skip".  She leaves behind two daughters, Glennie Turner and Gayle (Mark) Kane; two sons, David (Christie) Woodward and Tom (Julie) Woodward; eleven grandchildren and multiple great and great-great-grandchildren that she dearly loved and treasured.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 19th at 11:00 AM at Sunset Hills Cemetery in Warrensburg, MO.

Memorial donations in Thelma's name may be made to Olathe Health Hospice House, 15310 Marion St., Olathe, KS 66061.
