Theodora J. Jones, 89, of Lenexa, formerly of Omaha, NE, passed away Saturday, February 8 at Silvercrest at Collegeview.

Theodora was born March 28, 1930 to the late John and Sarah DeKoster in Hull, Iowa.  Theo graduated from Hull High School in 1947 and earned a bachelor's in business from Central Iowa College in 1952.  On November 23, 1956, she married Donald Jones in Hull, Iowa.  Theo was an active member of West Hills Presbyterian Church in Omaha, NE, where she enjoyed singing in the choir for many years.  Theo was a dedicated mother and Navy wife.  She served right alongside Donald until his retirement in 1974.  Theo and Donald enjoyed traveling all around the world and visited every continent except Antarctica.  In between trips, Theo enjoyed golfing and knitting stockings for all the new arrivals to the family and friends, young and old.

Theo is survived by her husband of 63 years, Donald; her children, Kathy Finley and husband Bill; Linda Jones; Philip Jones and wife Heather; Jeff Jones and wife Susan; nine grandchildren, Doug Jones; Maria Jones; Jenni Jones; Sarah Jones; Scott Finley and wife Emily; Jack Finley and wife Heather; Emily Baxter and husband Clint; Andrea Finley and fiance John Bell; Samantha Finley and eight great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by brother Luke, and sisters Chan, Judy and Pat.

Services

A Celebration of Theodora's life will be 2 p.m. Saturday, March 14th at Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church, 11100 College Boulevard, Overland Park, Kansas 66210.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the church.
