Theodore L. Sandow Md Jr.

Theodore L. Sandow Jr. MD, 80, of Lake Quivira, KS passed away February 4, 2016. Theodore was born April 29, 1935 in Chicago, Illinois to Theodore Sr. and Georgina Sandow. Ted attended Loyola University and Stritch Medical School in Chicago, Illinois followed by Orthopedic Surgical Residency at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. He was a member of the American Medical Association, American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, Doctors of Mayo Society, Coventry Society, and multiple other organizations. Theodore served in the US Air Force in the early 60's. Dr. Sandow practiced for 36 years at area hospitals with Midwest Orthopedic Clinic/Dickson - Diveley Midwest Orthopedic Clinic. He was a lover of opera and fine art, avid hunter, golfer, skier and loved the outdoors. Ted was a wonderful man who loved his wife Patricia, children, grandchildren and the rest of his family and friends. Ted had a great passion for living. Theodore is survived by his wife, Patricia, sons, George (Bridget), Theodore III, and Christopher Sandow, daughters, Rebecca (Bob) Soptic, and Julia (Scott) Gulley, bonus son, Mark Utlaut, grandchildren, Kyle Tulp, Kevin Tulp, Austin Sandow, Lauren Sandow, Rachel Sandow, bonus grandchildren Brooke Chilovich and Cole Utlaut, sister, Barbara Zamzow, brother, James, Sandow, many nieces and nephews, and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Karen and Dale Stanhaus and Jane and Vernon Berger. Theodore was preceded in death by his parents and bonus daughter, Kristen Utlaut.

A Private Family Service will be held at Amos Family Funeral Home.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Lake Quivira Country Club at a later date.
