Thomas Jacob Amer

Thomas Jacob Amer, 63, passed away Monday January 23, 2017 in Spring Hill, Kansas. Tom was born October 4, 1953 in Kansas City, Kansas, the son of Hubert E. and Mildred A. (Johnson) Amer.

He is survived by his brother, Bill Amer (Marge), Topeka, Kansas; daughter Melanie Koup (Joe), Sugar Grove, Illinois; brother in law, Warren McVey (Maxine), Spring Hill, Kansas; nephew, Steve McVey (Sandy), Spring Hill, Kansas; niece Linda Tornetta, Orange, California; niece Jan Yocom (Joel), Paola, Kansas; niece Diane Houser, Topeka, Kansas; nephew Mark McVey (Stacey), Overland Park, Kansas; nephew Bill Amer (Mary Clare), Overland Park, Kansas; two grandchildren Austin Koup, Dillon Koup and many cousins, great and great great nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert E. and Mildred A. Amer; sister, Ramona (Amer) McVey.

Tom was a past deputy with the Johnson County Kansas Sheriff's Department. Tom resided in Blytheville, Arkansas working for NuCor Steel many years before recently returning to the Kansas City area.
