Thomas Martin Lacy

June 22, 1932 — February 11, 2015

Thomas Martin Lacy Sr., 82, died Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at the Overland Park Place Rehabilitation Center due to heart complications.

Tom was born on June 22, 1932 in Kansas City, Kansas to John and Beatrice Lacy. He was a lifelong resident of Kansas City and attended high school at both Bishop Ward and St Agnes. After graduating high school in 1950, Tom joined the Army and served as a Military Police Officer. In 1954 Tom married his wife, Dona Thompson, and began the family that would eventually include his eight children, seventeen grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.

During his lifetime, Tom enjoyed going to the movies, live music, socializing with friends and family, spending time in Colorado, as well as the occasional cigar and saying to every woman he ran across "Hey Good Looking". His smile, stories, and sense of humor will be greatly missed by all.

Tom leaves behind two siblings, Vincent (Gay) Lacy and Virginia McKinnon; six children, Jim Lacy, John (Susan) Lacy, Ann (Tom) McClure, Bob (Nan) Lacy, Jackie Lacy, and Betsy (Tom) Weber; seventeen grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and many beloved friends. He is preceded in death by his wife, Dona, Brother John and his two sons, Tony and Tom Jr.

Visitation will be held on Monday, February 16, 2015 from 9am to 11am at St Agnes Catholic Church 5250 Mission Road Mission, Kansas, with the Rosary recited at 9am. The Funeral Mass at 11am and burial will immediately follow.
