Thomas J. Sloan

December 15, 1942 — February 12, 2021

The most loving, nurturing and generous man I have ever known, Thomas Joseph Sloan, passed away on February 12, 2021 after bravely battling cancer. He said he was going to go out fighting so hard we would remember him as Rocky. He fought fervently for every moment he could spend with his beautiful wife Revelle.

He was preceded in death by his father Clarence A. Sloan, mother Louise M. Sloan, sisters Margaret Sloan and Theresa Krall and his daughter Melissa L. Sloan.

Tom leaves behind his loving wife of 57 years Revelle D. Sloan, son Chris Sloan and wife Nannette, grandchildren Tyler and Madison, granddaughter Tasha Strader and Husband Steven, great grandchildren Trenton and JaciLynn, brother Clancy and wife Pat and children as well as lifelong friends and partners in crime Chris and Carol Miller.

Tom owned and operated his business ABC Bandag, INC for 20 years before retiring and moving to Las Vegas. Tom and Rev returned home to Overland Park, KS in 2007. Spending years traveling the world and making beautiful memories with the love of his life and center of his universe, his beloved Rev or "Fred" as he so often lovingly called her.

Tom was one of a kind, opinionated, stubborn and very strong willed. One always knew where they stood with him. If you ever wanted to see him get fired up you just had to bring up politics with him, whichever side of the isle you were on.

Tom was a shining light to those who knew and loved him and will be missed by us all.
