Thomas J. VanKeirsbilck, 74, Shawnee, KS passed away peacefully Friday, April 22, 2016 at the Kansas City Hospice House, Kansas City, MO. Tom, the only child of Sid and Mary (Dusselier) VanKeirsbilck. Asta Schmidt and Tom were married June 27, 1964 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Shawnee, KS. He served in the National Guard 1962-1972. Tom loved his family, spending time at the Lake Ozark, fishing, racing, hunting, his workshop and K of C 2332.

He leaves his wife, Asta; three sons and their families, Mike and Joanne, grandchildren, Ryan, Scott and Kate of Leawood, KS.

Mark and Dawn, granddaughters, Ellie and Annie of Edmond, OK.

Tom and Kelly, grandchildren, Gus and Vivian of Gardner, KS.

Tom was a hard working Belgian who started in the foundation business with his father. Later he became a home builder and real estate developer of Nottingham Properties.

The entire family would like to thank Kansas City Hospice for their beautiful care.

Services

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 26 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church; burial in the Resurrection Cemetery. Friends may call from 9:30-11:00 a.m. at the church.
