Thomas G Vielhauer Jr

Thomas G. Vielhauer Jr.”Moe”, age 40, of Shawnee, KS, passed away on July 20, 2024. He was born on September 30, 1983, in Shawnee, KS to Tina and Tom Vielhauer. He graduated from SMNW 2002, where shenanigans were had by all at the Vielhauer house, among other places. He ventured to K-State, where he became a lifelong Wildcat and learned important life skills before his friendship with Megan turned into more. Megan and Moe were married for 10 years and has a wonderful son Mason, age 13. Moe, was a master plumber and worked for the Kansas Gas Service. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a loving and devoted father and will be deeply missed by his wife Megan, son Mason, his dog Sheldon, family, and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Megan Vielhauer; son, Mason Vielhauer; his parents, Tom and Tina Vielhauer; grandma, Gladys Maurer; sister, Brenda Davis and her husband Jason; sister, Cindy Kelley and her husband Justin; nephews, Cale and Dawson Davis, Austin and Kasey Kelley, Drake and Weston Dillman, Jacob Smith, Henry Egan; nieces, Emma and Alli Smith; and his dog, Sheldon Batman Vielhauer. Moe was known for his love of BBQ and the Lake of the Ozarks. He enjoyed golfing and fishing with his son Mason, spending time with friends, competing in BBQ competitions-he was famous for his sausage, playing softball, and a history buff. He loved his family traditions and Shawnee. He will be remembered as kind and always willing to help anyone. He was the type of guy that would give you the shirt off his back. 

A visitation will be held on Friday July 26, at 10 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. and a reception luncheon at St. Joseph Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a memorial fund for his son Mason through Venmo @MasonVielhauer. He will be dearly missed by all those who were blessed to know him.
