Tom Zarda Jr.

Thomas R. Zarda Jr., 60, passed away March 18, 2017 at KU Medical Center. Tom was born on Feb. 25, 1957, in Kansas City, Kansas to Thomas R. and Geraldine M. Zarda. Tom is preceded in death by his sister, Joyce (Zarda) Alvano and sister in law, Lori (Hatch) Stirling. He is survived by his wife, Shari (Hatch) Zarda; children, Jeremy, Chrissy, Anna, Sheridan; parents, Thomas R. and Geraldine "Mickey" (Nachbar) Zarda; siblings, Linda Zarda Cook, Rose Mary Rieke, Diana L. Zarda, Joan M. Davila; grandchildren, Landon and Zoe; in addition to numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Tom grew up in Shawnee, Kansas. He attended St. Joseph Grade School and high school. Tom graduated from high school in 1975. He graduated from Kansas University in 1979 with a Bachelor's Degree in Business. He was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Church and also a member of the Knights of Columbus #2332 and 4th Degree member of the Bishop Ward Assembly. Tom was a devoted father, loving husband, caring son/big brother, and extraordinary Papa. Tom was an avid sports fan and he enjoyed his ice cream. He was loved by many and will be missed by all.

A Rosary will take place Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at 5:00 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church 11311 Johnson Drive Shawnee, Kansas 66203 with a visitation to immediately follow until 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 23, 2017 at the church. Burial will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
