Uhlemma “Lemmie” Myer

Uhlemma "Lemmie" Myer, 85, Kansas City, Kansas, passed away Monday, September 2, 2013, at the Sweet Life in Overland Park, Kansas.

Mrs. Myer was born on December 4, 1927, in Kansas City, Kansas, to Everett and Uhla (Hinds) Major. She graduated from WyandotteHigh School. In 1951, Lemmie married George Myer and together they had four children. While her children were young, she worked at Oak Grove Elementary School. Later, she worked and retired from Wyandotte County at the Courthouse as a clerk in the tax department and a long term jury clerk. She was an avid bridge player and loved all types of card games. She was a member of Bristol Hill United Methodist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Geoff (Debi) Myer of Raytown, Missouri and Steve (Vicki) Myer of Overland Park, Kansas; two daughters, Cassandra Myer of Viera, Florida, and Mindy Monceret of Olathe, Kansas; eight grandchildren, Brett Myer, Katie Myer, Adam Myer, Lindsey Monceret, Geoff Monceret, Jessica Bailey, and Jason Fowler; and five great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 6:00 p.m., Thursday, September 5, 2013, at Amos Family Funeral Home & Crematory. Inurnment will be in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Lemmie's name may be made to the Alzheimer's Association Heartland Chapter.
