Vada G. Clark, 81, Shawnee, Kansas, passed away Sunday, September 26, 2010, at the Sweet Life of Rosehill.

Vada was born February 11, 1929, in Jetmore, Kansas to Harry and Florence (Lupfer) Schechter. Vada attended Sterling College in Sterling, Kansas. Vada is a long time member of Shawnee United Methodist Church, and was employed as a secretary for Flint Elementary School for 17 years. She was a 25 year volunteer for Shawnee Mission Medical Center and an active member of Cancer Action.

Vada was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers: William H., Bruce D., Loren A. and Dale L. Schechter. Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Robert; three sons and their wives, Charles (Chris), Shawnee, Kansas, Carl (Marjorie), Shawnee, Kansas, and Donald (Catherine) Rosenberg, Texas; one sister Dorothy (Ralph) Morris, Colorado Springs, Colorado, a brother Richard (Joann) Schechter, Monroe, Ohio; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Vada will be remembered as an exemplary wife, mother and grandmother.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Shawnee United Methodist Church, 10700 Johnson Dr., Shawnee, Kansas 66203 or Cancer Action, 10520 Barkley, #100, Overland Park, Kansas 66212.

Memorial Service

Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, September 30, 2010, at Shawnee United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends at the church following the memorial service.
