Vada Ladean Lenninger

January 9, 1926 — October 15, 2020

LaDean Lenninger, 94, of Overland Park, KS passed away October 15, 2020 at her home.  She was born to Raymond Alonzo Lewis, Sr. and Cora Francesca (Morstorf) Lewis on January 9, 1926 in Topeka, KS.  She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Raymond Alonzo Lewis, Jr. and his wife Donna Lea (Morrison), sister Alice Luella (Lewis) Cavanaugh and her husband Jesse Eugene, granddaughter Lydia Grace Lenninger and former husband Maurice Michael Lenninger.  She is survived by her brother Ivan Duane Lewis (Eulalia Garcia) of LaMesa, CA and her children, daughter Kerry Ivane Lenninger and son Daniel Andrew Lenninger (Brenda Fair) of Shawnee, KS, daughter Keyna Marea Lamb (Gene) of Olathe, KS and daughter Tama Marea Byrnes (Terry) of Overland Park, KS.  LaDean leaves behind 8 beloved grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

LaDean began working for the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway in 1943 starting out in Chicago, IL and transferring to the Argentine district in Kansas City, KS.  She retired after 45 years as a head crew clerk.  After her retirement she worked 2 years at Shawnee Mission Medical Center in the Medical Records Department.

LaDean was a dedicated mother and grandmother. She always put her family first and loved spending time with her grandchildren.  She was an avid genealogy researcher and cherished talks with her brother about family history.  She also enjoyed reading, cooking for family gatherings, going for walks and spending time in her backyard.

A graveside service will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday, October 24, 2020 at the Lynn Creek Cemetery, Berryton, Kansas.
