Valena K. Wheeler

Valena K. Wheeler, 71, of Shawnee, Kansas passed away October 26, 2022 surrounded by her loving family.

Valena was born April 2, 1951 in St. Joseph, Missouri to Wayne and Ardy Elder. She had recently moved to Colonial Oaks Senior Living at Leawood and thoroughly enjoyed the new friends and activities. She also enjoyed Coca-cola, The Real Housewives series and People magazine.

Valena was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved sister Judith and her cherished son Christopher. She is survived by her husband Carroll “Ed” Wheeler, daughter Lynn Peterson, son-in-law Michael Peterson and her sister Patricia Pixler.

A visitation will be held Friday, December 2, 2022 at 9:00 a.m. at the Amos Family Funeral Home located at 10901 Johnson Dr., Shawnee, Kansas followed by a Celebration of Life at 10:00 a.m. also at the funeral home. Valena will be laid to rest at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery following her service.
