Valerie Dawn Earl

Valerie Earl, 64, of Shawnee, KS, passed away March 8th, 2021, with her family by her side.

Passed away peacefully at home, after being retired for the last year. She was born to the late Robert DeCaney and Katherine Hayes, March 12, 1956, in Kansas City, Kansas. Valerie graduated from Shawnee Mission Northwest High School in 1974.

On March 31st, 1990 Valerie married Jimmie (JD) Earl in Wyandotte, KS. To this union was born one daughter, Christie. The couple made their home in Shawnee, KS.

Valerie enjoyed baking her delicious chocolate chip cookies as well as helping her husband with smoking meat. She found joy in life by watching her granddaughter grow. Valerie was a woman of great patience and privacy. She was very strong and believed "my problems are not your problems."

Valerie is survived by her husband Jimmie (JD) Earl, her daughter Christie Earl, and granddaughter Harley Lemmon. She is also survived by her mother Katherine Hayes, her brother Chris DeCaney, his wife Tammy and their daughter Kirin.

A visitation will be held at Amos Family Funeral Home on Saturday March 13th, 2021 from 10:00 to 11:30 AM.  Due to Covid, Amos Funeral Home can only accommodate up to 45 people at a time in the chapel.
