Vatsana Sithysane

Vatsana Sithysane, a devoted homemaker, devout buddhist, and passionate gardener, passed away at the age of 64 years old on December 3, 2024 in Kansas City, MO at the Kansas City Hospice Home at 5:08 PM. 

Born in the village of Paktapan, in the city of Lakonepheng, province of Salavan in the country of Laos. She was the beloved daughter to Mr. Vahd Sithysane and Mrs. Thongdam Suwanwisute born on June 1, 1960. She is the second oldest of seven siblings. Her older brother Tui Suwanwisute, and her younger siblings; Vanta Sithysane, Somneuk Buolom, Tik Sithysane, Xieng Sithysane, Jiew Sithysane.

Vatsana is survived by her three children; Mia Hocker, Julye Sithysane, and David Suwanwisute. She was a proud grandmother to two grand-children; Jocelyn and Amelia Phiakeo. She also lovingly adored her great-grandchild Onna Tyler.

She was an active member in The Lao-American Association of Kansas City, The K.C. Lao Association based in Independence, MO, the Laos Community Association based in Gardner, KS, and the Lao-Buddhist Association based in Olathe, KS. 

She was particularly enthusiastic about her garden. She enjoyed trying to produce as many herbs and vegetables from her native country as was able. She also enjoyed spending time with friends and family. When she was called upon to help, she never hesitated to show up on the most important occasions. 

The family wishes to thank the wonderful people of North Kansas City Hospital for putting in their best effort in prolonging the life of Vatsana Sithysane. We also want to thank the staff of DCI Dialysis Clinic and DaVita Northland Dialysis. Everyone has been so warm and welcoming towards Vatsana for these past couple years, thank you for providing such exceptional care.

A visitation will be held from 3:00 to 5:00 pm, Friday, December 6th at the Amos Family Funeral Home. A funeral services will also be held at Amos  at 12:00 PM on December 7th followed by cremation scheduled at 3:00 PM.
