Vernon Jon Green

Vernon Jon Green of Shawnee, Kansas passed away peacefully after an extended illness on October 4, 2018, at the age of 71.  Vern was married to Jane for 47 years before she passed away in 2014.  He was born on September 14, 1947 in Marshall, Minnesota.  He was a retired systems analyst.  He is remembered lovingly by his daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and Daniel Rechtfertig; son, Jason Green; son-in-law Robert Botz and grandchildren, Alyssa Botz, Meadow Rechtfertig and Stone Rechtfertig.  Also, his brother and sister-in-law, Lowell and Sharon Green; his sister and brother-in-law, Darlene and Richard McBride; and brother and sister-in-law, Dean and Karen Green. He is preceded in death by his wife, Jane Green; his father and mother, Virgil and Evelyn Green; his daughters Tamera Botz and Darla Green and grandson, Anthony Botz.  Arrangements are at Amos Funeral Home 10901 Johnson Dr., Shawnee, KS.

Visitation is Sunday from 4-6 pm and funeral services are on Monday at 10 am, October 8, 2018 at the Amos Family Funeral Home; burial in Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens.
