Vesta Margaret Baehr

Vesta Margaret Baehr, 92, Leawood, Kansas, passed away Sunday, February 19, 2012, at her home.

Vesta was born August 2, 1919, on the family farm in New Lancaster, Kansas, to Harry and Margaret Hamlin. She graduated from Paola High School in 1937 and was a graduate of Trinity Lutheran School of Nursing in 1940. Vesta also received her BS in Nursing from the University of Kansas in 1965. She held various nursing positions prior to working for the Community Studies, Inc., and the Institute for Pupil Study. Vesta worked for the Olathe District Schools and retired at the age of 70.

Vesta was preceded in death by her husband, Paul J. Baehr in 1983 and brother, Hubert Hamlin. Survivors include her son, John (Mary) Baehr, Fairway, Kansas; daughter, Linda Baehr, Prairie Village, Kansas; and granddaughter, Malinda Baehr, Esq., Washington, D.C.

Visitation will be 9-10:00 a.m., Thursday, February 23, 2012, followed by Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 a.m., at Cure' of Ars Catholic Church, 9401 Mission Road, Leawood, Kansas 66206. Graveside service will be 3:00 p.m., Thursday, Mt. Hope Cemetery, Joplin, Missouri.
