Veta May Hunsucker, 87, Shawnee, KS passed away Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2021 at AdventHealth Shawnee Mission, KS. Graveside services will be 2:00 pm Saturday, Feb. 20, 2021 at the Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens.
Veta was born in Eagleville, MO on May 25th, 1933 to Earl and Vergie Stewart. She married her childhood sweetheart, Norval, on May 20th, 1951. They had celebrated 69 years of marriage in 2020.
Veta was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Norval Hunsucker on Nov. 11, 2020. She is survived by her three children, John Hunsucker, Susie (Sonny) Illig and Jerry Hunsucker; five grandchildren, Amy (Vince) Lombardi, Chris (Stephanie) Hunsucker, Bobby Illig, Chris (Tamra) Illig and Luke Illig; five great grandchildren, Kaitlynn Hunsucker, Anthony Lombardi, Logan, Carson and Oliver Illig.
