Virginia M. “Ginny” Elliott

Virginia M. "Ginny" Elliott, 86, Leawood, KS (formerly of Shawnee, KS) passed away Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2016 (All Saints Day) at St. Luke's South Hospital, Overland Park, KS.

Ginny was born March 26, 1930 in Topeka, KS to Guy and Estella Davis. She was a graduate of Phoenix Union High School, Phoenix, AZ. Ginny was a very active community volunteer. She was a volunteer with Cub Scouts, Woodsonia Elementary School in the DeSoto School District, EMS for the Monticello Township, the Monticello Community Historical Society, drove cancer patients to and from treatments and especially active with the Monticello United Methodist Church, serving in many capacities. Among her interests were bowling, crocheting, crossword puzzles, pinochle club, and board games. She was passionate about family gatherings and genealogy.

Ginny is survived by her husband of 66 years, Wendell "Windy" Elliott; two sons, Rev. Roger (Lorene) Elliott, Beloit, WI and Paul (Glenda) Elliott, Shawnee, KS; two daughters, Sherry (Phil) Davis, Kearney, MO and Cyndi (Kyle Boetel) Elliott, Aurora, CO; sister, Glenda (Nick) Donato, Lake Havasu, AZ; ten grandchildren, Heather (Michael) Curtis, Crystal (Kevin) Marquette, Christina (Corey) Breaux, William Davis, Leah Davis, Colin Orand, Chelsea Bledsoe, Caleb Bledsoe, Carena Bledsoe, and Creighton Bledsoe; eight great grandchildren, Gabriel Curtis, Maddy Curtis, Caleb Curtis, Charis Marquette, Alex Marquette, Kyleigh Higgins, Leelah Breaux, and James Breaux; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 7 at Monticello United Methodist Church; burial in Old Monticello Cemetery, Shawnee, KS. Visitation will be 2-4:00 p.m. Sunday at the Amos Family Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Monticello United Methodist Church, 23860 W. 75th St., Shawnee, KS 66227.
